In 1974, GIANNINI is conscious of the bad economic situation. The petrol crisis of 1973 has touched all the car market. Then, GIANNINI decided to decrease the cubic capacity of a Fiat 500 R engine to give birth to a new car : The Giannini 350 EC R.
Based on the Fiat 500 R whose cubic capacity was 594 cc, Giannini tried to reduce at 390 cc but with the volonty to keep 16.5 HP at 5000 round/min. The aim was to consume 1 L every 25 km. Giannini succede in his aim but never gave this car a particular commercial interest because of the price who was asked. More than 100.000 italian £ than a Giannini 500 TV and more than 200.000 italian £ than an also economical Fiat 500 R.
The Giannini 350 EC did not resist and disappear the next year. More, the factory known difficulties in 1975. However, the 350 EC was a interessant project to show how Giannini could economize petrol.
